The Gates of Hell is an interactive Pylon and one of the oldest and largest in the Temple of Set. It was founded by Magister Whitaker in XXII AES. The Pylon exists for initiates of Black Magic who are geographically distanced or who prefer not to be involved with group situations.
Entry into the Pylon is sought only through one of the Gates of Hell. Details of the individual Gates and their Gatekeepers are available by writing to the Pylon Sentinel. After a prospective member has read the information, they choose a Gate and begin correspondance with its Keeper.
The Gatekeeper can answer the initiate's questions or concerns about the general philosophy, operations and subjects being explored within the Temple. Once the initiate has been granted entry through a Gate, its Gatekeeper will inform the initiate what he or she is to do next.
Members of the Gates of Hell Pylon will be expected to:
1) Have their information listed on the Intercommunication Roster
of the Temple of Set.
2) Actively correspond with other members of the Pylon.
3) Submit at least three contributions per year to the Pylon
newsletter, Flames from Hell.
4) Present two personal challenge reports per year.
5) Pay yearly dues to pay for printing and mailing of the
newsletter which is published seasonally.
Like all Pylons in the Temple of Set, the Gates of Hell Pylon is meant to be used as an initiatory tool. Setians see challenges and risks as necessary to their Xeper. The Gates of Hell Pylon offers an opportunity for all Setians, no matter where they live on earth, to interact with other Setians via the written word.
